The 4 C's of Diamonds. Color, Cut, Clarity, and Carat Weight. The most important being color. Color is the first thing you see when looking at a diamond, the purer the color, the brighter the diamond. Second is the cut of a diamond. The proper proportions or geometry of a diamond creates the intense brilliancy. This is how a diamond handles light. Next is clarity, the beauty of a diamond is least affected by clarity, as long as a diamond does not have visible inclusions(imperfections that can be seen without magnification).

Finally comes carat weight which describes the weight of the diamond.

In summary the purer the color, the proper cut, and the lack of imperfections are what make up a quality diamond. Along with size and shape, this is what gives diamonds their lasting beauty and value.
